If you are concerned about Ebola, here are the facts. Countries in southern Africa like Namibia, Botswana and South Africa are at least 2,700 miles by air and about 4,700 miles by road from Monrovia, Liberia in West Africa. According to the CDC, none of these three countries is listed on their lowest safety category (Level 1 practice usual caution). Other, well visited countries like the Caribbean, Mexico, Japan, China, Malaysia and others are even listed on this low risk category. So you are not at risk of contracting Ebola when travelling to southern Africa (Sept. 2014).
