Are you looking for a once in a lifetime wildlife experience and get the chance to give something back. Then the African Wildlife Sanctuary is the place for you. This energetic project allows for a unique and rewarding practical experience where volunteers take part in various aspects of animal care, conservation, research and environmental studies. You will experience the unique interaction and bonding with animals, be taken on adventures and taught how to read nature and its wildlife.

Role of the volunteer

The Wildlife project offers you the chance to be involved in all the daily activities at the sanctuary which includes:

  • food preparation
  • feeding and interacting with animals
  • cleaning and building enclosures
  • building waterholes and fences
  • fence patrol on horseback
  • bush walks as well as animal walks
  • game counting, animal studies, and research on rehabilitated animals
  • fear factor games, survivor games, dress up nights, and star gazing

Accommodation is at the volunteer village. The minimum required stay is 2 weeks and up to a maximum of three months.

Do I need experience? No.
