Day 1: Sunday           Johannesburg

You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, exploring the magnificent suburban shopping malls. At 7:00pm we all meet at reception for a briefing on the tour and a chance to meet your fellow travellers.

Day 2: Monday          Pretoria – Mpumalanga

We depart by 08:30am and head for Pretoria, South Africa’s capital city, for a short orientation tour, before continuing east to the escarpment. We travel via some historic towns and book into your hotel on the famous Long Tom Pass. The afternoon is at leisure to take in the panoramic views across the escarpment or to participate in one of the many optional activities such as mountain biking, hiking or trout fishing.

Day 3: Tuesday         Kruger National Park

Travel along the spectacular Panorama Route and visit the impressive God’s Window, waterfalls and Blyde River Canyon, before arriving at our overnight hotel.

Day 4: Wednesday    Kruger National Park

Explore this magnificent wilderness in an open vehicle and get a chance to observe the diversity of wildlife and search for lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. An optional activity is spending an afternoon interacting with elephants – guests have the opportunity to touch, feed and brush down these magnificent animals.

Day 5: Thursday       The Kingdom of Swaziland

Enjoy an enchanting drive to the Kingdom of Swaziland and experience interactive cultural traditions. Afterwards we continue to the beautiful Ezulwini Valley for our stay.

Day 6: Friday            The Kingdom of the Zulu’s

Start the day with a true African shopping experience at the vibrant Ezulwini Craft Market. Travelling to Zululand, we pass through endless vistas to arrive at our hotel in the Umfolozi area. Optional activity is an exciting afternoon game drive in an open vehicle in the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Park.

Day 7: Saturday        Durban

Enjoy a cruise on Lake St Lucia in the morning before travelling south through sugar cane fields en-route to Durban. The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure enjoying the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Optional activity: afternoon city tour of Durban.

Day 8: Sunday           Port Elizabeth – Knysna

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for the morning flight to Port Elizabeth. The group will be met by the new tour director and once everyone has arrived, we set off to explore the Tsitsikamma Forest. Soak up the magnificent coastal views and the beautiful forests. From here we depart for Knysna in the heart of the renowned Garden Route.

Day 9: Monday          Knysna

Cruise on the extensive Knysna Lagoon and enjoy an amazing view of the imposing sandstone ‘Heads’, forests, marshes and pristine beaches. After lunch we have the remainder of the day at leisure to enjoy this lovely town.

Day 10: Tuesday       Oudtshoorn

Traverse the spectacular Outeniqua Pass en-route to Oudtshoorn, South Africa’s center of the ostrich industry. Learn more about these enigmatic creatures during a tour of an ostrich farm before heading on a fascinating tour of the Cango Caves.

Day 11: Wednesday Cape Town

Enjoy the ever-changing vistas as we travel to Cape Town. During the whale season (July to November only) we will travel via the seaside village of Hermanus in the hopes of catching a glimpse of the southern right whales. Out of season we will return to Cape Town along the scenic ‘Route 62’.

Day 12: Thursday     Cape Peninsula

A full day touring of the ruggedly beautiful Cape Peninsula winding our way through some of the most spectacular coastal scenery in the world. We stop at the fishing village of Hout Bay, where you can opt to take an optional cruise to Seal Island. Then we continue to the Cape Point Nature Reserve, before stopping off to see the lovable penguins at Boulders Beach.

Day 13: Friday          Cape Winelands

We journey into the beautiful and tranquil Cape Winelands for wine tasting at two well-known estates in the vicinity of Stellenbosch and Paarl.

Day 14: Saturday      Cape Town

This brings us to the end of our tour. After breakfast, check out of your hotel and be transferred to the airport for your return flight. (B)
