Duration:                      4 Days / 3 Nights
Departure dates:       There are no fixed departure dates for this safari and are as per your preferred dates with a minimum of 2 people

Day 1: Plains Camp

If you are driving from Johannesburg, you should leave Johannesburg by 7:00am at the latest.

All guests coming on the Walking Safaris are required to arrive at Rhino Post Safari Lodge by 2:00pm in order to be transferred to the Plains Camp in an open game vehicle.

The trail starts at Plains Camp, situated in the heart of the 12,000 ha wilderness concession overlooking the spectacular Timbitene Plain & waterhole. After settling in, the group is briefed about the ‘do’s & don’ts’ of bush walking safaris by your guide. Walking safari guides meet the stringent requirements of the South African National Parks and hold the highest guiding qualification possible in South Africa.  After the brief, you will depart with your 2 armed rangers for an introductory walk, returning to the vehicle in time for sundowners and again enjoying a short night drive before returning to camp.  The concession has a large diversity of fauna and flora – an ideal setting for wilderness walking safaris in Big Five country. Day 2: Sleepout in the bush

All walking trails are enjoyed in the early morning and late afternoon to avoid the midday heat, with the average duration of the morning walk being between 3 and 4 hours.  The guides will structure the trail taking into account the fitness level of the group and any special requests. During the bush walk they will share their wealth of bush knowledge. After a light snack on the walk, you will be served a well-deserved brunch on your return to the camp.  Relax during the heat of the day, enjoying the plunge pool overlooking the plain, with a chance of seeing some wildlife.

Guests leave Plains Camp in the late afternoon for a 1-1 ½ hour walk, carrying only a lightweight backpack and arrive at the 4-5m above the ground sleeping platforms in the early evening. This is the only place in the Kruger National Park offering this unusual accommodation. After preparing your bed and mosquito net, sundowners can be enjoyed on the platforms that also overlook a waterhole.  The sleep outs have hot showers and flush toilets.  While dinner is being prepared on an open fire, enjoy the sounds and senses of the wild at night. Day 3: Rhino Post Safari Lodge

The following morning you will depart back to Plains Camp for a hearty brunch & shower before packing up and being transferred back to the Rhino Post Safari Lodge. (BLD)

Day 4: Departure

The safari ends on day 4 and clients check out for their departure. (B)
